Drifting Away

Film Synopsis The husband, a theater actor working at the theater street of Taehak-ro, is having an affair with the actress he is working with and the wife is having a difficult time trying to make the ends meet without worrying her husband. In his second feature film, director Dong-won Kim portrays a banal, typical life of a married couple. The inevitable break-up of the husband and his lover, and the conversation between the wife and the returning husband are a collection of reality, TV dramas and gossips.

On the other hand, the film is a portrayal of life at Taehak-ro. Romance is acted out in the plays and popular music and poets are everywhere. Nevertheless, the film conveys the feeling of solitary and loneliness. It shows the lives of artists living in these crowded days but who have no choice but to stand alone. The films touches upon the loneliness that exists between popularity and art.
